Getting there from Nesebar

Municipal lines 7 and 10 run through Nesebar and Ravda. Their timetables give departure times at the start of each line (Sunny Beach, Pomorie, Burgas), not in Ravda — see them below.

  • Taxi: for 2026 the municipality sets a price of €1.28 to €2.30 per km by day and €1.28 to €2.56 per km at night.
  • The municipal council’s Decision No 625 allows paid parking zones to be set in Ravda too; we found no published list of such zones.

The beaches

Cape Ravda divides the beach — 57,000 m² according to the municipality — into two bays: the South Beach, known for its golden sand and entertainment, and the quieter bay on the other side of the cape.

Prices from the Ministry of Tourism’s map “Prices of beach equipment”, read on 27 Oct 2026. The ministry notes that “the prices of beach equipment for the 2026 summer season are being updated”, so take them as a guide, not as confirmed 2026 prices. The price is for one umbrella or one sunbed unless stated otherwise.

Bathing-water quality

RZI Burgas samples three bathing waters in Ravda. In the latest assessment (2024 season) all three were of excellent quality. The 2026 bathing season ran until 30 September.

The village

Ravda is a village in Nesebar Municipality, “only a few kilometres from Nesebar and Sunny Beach”, as the municipality puts it. Just as Sveti Vlas does to the north, Ravda continues the sandy coast with hotels and places to stay to the south.

The municipality tells several legends about the name: a shepherd called Ravadin who came here around 1700; a cruel landowner and his stick, the “ravdas”; and the beauty Ravdalina, with whom Neptune himself fell in love.

Once there were only old Greek houses with thatched roofs here. Later they were replaced by identical “Charon houses”, named after the French banker Charon who lent a large sum to build them — the first homes of the Bulgarian refugees from Greek Macedonia. The settlers enlarged the school, and in 1943 they built the community centre (chitalishte) entirely from the villagers’ donations and voluntary work.

The spiritual centre is the church of St Paraskeva, built in 1884 by the Greeks Vasilios and Theodorakis with the help of the villagers; it was restored in 1998 with donations from villagers, the church board and the municipality.

Ravda is a place for children’s, youth and student holidays: in summer there are sports schools for sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing, rowing and swimming, and the National Sports Academy has its summer base here.
