The rules in short

  • From 30 March to 15 November 2026 only vehicles with a pass may enter the old part. The entrances are controlled by automatic barriers that read the number plate. (Checkpoint 1 — Kraybrezhna St., by the “Sever – golyam” (North – large) car park; Checkpoint 2 — by “the Gate” (Portata).)
  • Guests of hotels and rentals in the Old Town may drive in only to check in: they contact the “Call centre” named in the decision and show a booking or another document for their accommodation; check-in must be done within one hour, and then the car leaves the town.
  • Deliveries to shops and businesses are allowed from 07:30–12:00.

  • In the old part you may park only in the designated car parks; the speed limit is 20 km/h.
  • Each summer’s scheme is adopted by 15 May of that year (Ordinance No 1, art. 48(4)); the 2027 rules have not been adopted yet.
